Tapestry, to complete the holy trinity of Jalan Kamunting.

Previously, I have featured two other places on the same street. One of which happened to be a hit while the other was a miss (for me). To complete the holy trinity, I have finally came to Tapestry, one of the only two cafes on the block in its own building. Here's what we thought about the ambiance and the food:

The truth is, we've had a prior visit here some time in 2021 but we could hardly remember what the food was like. Coming back almost a year later, service was still as good as I remembered it to be and the environment inside still felt very vibrant. Usually, some restaurants would have gone through a drop in their quality of food and service but Tapestry managed to keep it consistent throughout.

Looking at the images above, the food tastes as good as they look. We ordered an iced matcha latte, an iced lattes and I had the three layer cham-presso which is made up of espresso, earl grey tea, evaporated milk, and Hawaiian coconut flakes around the rim of the glass. Honestly, I was really skeptical towards the 3-layered drink as I've never had something comprising of a coffee and tea mix. But hey, turned out okay!

For food, we ordered Rise & Shine Eggs Benedict, Egg Drop with Sarsi-glazed beef bacon, French toast (to share), and a Wagyu Burger. The main highlight of the trip was the Sarsi-glazed egg drop toast as the flavors were very unique. The one thing about sugar glazed bacon is that it lacks certain flavors unlike their method of glazing it in Sarsi or any form of root beer and sweet sodas. For those who may not know what that is, Sarsi is somewhat like a localized version of root beer. Everything else was pretty alright but the burger did lack a little "pizazz" for me.

Overall, we had a great time here as the ambiance was rather relaxing (unlike the long line outside) and gastronomically pleasant. I would recommend coming here for a quick get-together with friends or to have a nice brunch with your partner. Also, they serve alcohol!
